DogHouse is an app that provides reliable and cheap places where people can leave their dogs in case they have to travel for a certain period of time. The app is inspired by Airbnb, a platform for secure, diverse short-term bookings in private residences. The course’s goal was to create a positive digital product for the benefit of the community.
Problem
Dog owners frequently rely on dog boardings, which can be pricey and may mean less attention for their dogs. In some cases, owners leave their dogs with friends or dog sitters, but these choices aren't always available.

Solution
By offering private residences, the app ensures lower prices compared to traditional dog boardings. Additionally, users can rely on trustworthy reviews, and their dogs will enjoy a lot of love and attention.
Research
I interviewed thirteen dog owners regarding their experience when leaving their dog behind while traveling. This helped me identify key factors to consider while creating the app. Additionally, I explored various travel and booking apps to draw inspiration from different booking methods and user experiences.

Ideation
After summarizing the important points from the research, I tried to brainstorm different ways to implement the main values that emerged from it, by designing different wireframes that will be the basis for a reliable and safe app. Then I focused on the design aspects and tried to include the same values.
Visual Design
My main goal was to create a reliable app. I started by researching different booking apps, including Airbnb and Booking. These provided valuable insights that directed my design approach. The overall design is minimalistic and vector-based and the chosen warm color palette: beige, brown, black and white, creates a friendly and peaceful atmosphere. The design caters to dog owners with cute dog illustrations, GIFs, and icons.
